Description

The new Tanner Family Crest by Ahonu recognizes its origins in sacred geometry. It has links to ancient middle-eastern numerology and is founded on the principle of four sides. There are 4 crosses and 4 'T's built into the 8 squares with 45 deg. cross lines that divide the squares into pyramids, indicating a deep inner knowledge from the time of the origin of mankind that is carried down through the family DNA.

This feature of the fours promotes balance and stability in the family unit as well as providing a sound, solid structure in which to expand as individuals into the world.

Inbuilt into the square structure is the letter 'T'. The crossbar of one T can be seen above the peak of the shield, while the others are all facing the four directions. The four T's suggest a connection with 'forty', a number that has biblical connections and connect this family with that time period. Indeed, throughout the geometric pattern behind the shield, the squares form crosses. This indicates a familiarity with the pre-Christian symbolism of the cross, and connects with the symbolism of the T for Tanner.

Finally, the silver merging into gold of the shield suggest that wealth and abundance is a familiar attribute of the Tanner family that will be carried forward to all future generations.
